Respuesta :
There are multiple physical features that determine where the people live, and how large populations can be supported at those places.
Explanation:
The areas where the people live mostly tend to have good living conditions, and those living conditions are because of certain physical features. Because of the physical characteristics of the regions, there are large variations when it comes to population density from one place to another. Some areas are heavily populated, while some areas are almost entirely empty of human settlements.
Some of the physical features that determine where the people live are:
- mountains
- valleys
- coastlines
- rivers
- volcanoes
In general, the people prefer to live along the coastlines and large rivers, in the lowlands, or rather valleys. The reason for that is they provide them with fertile soil, thus food production, more pleasant climate (in general), easy transportation of goods, easy traveling, good connectivity etc. On the other hand, the high mountains, or deserts don't offer good living conditions, so naturally the people avoid them. The climate is harsher, some or most of the resources are scarce, and the connectivity and movement are difficult and risky.
