Answer: not sure of the good or evil nature of the Ghost.
Hamlet's most fatal character trait is his indecisiveness. Although he wants to avenge his father's death, he continues to find excuses throughout the play in order to avoid action. The only actions that Hamlet takes to accomplish his goal are those that are born out of impulse. In this part of the play, Hamlet argues that he is not sure whether the Ghost is good or evil, and he uses this excuse to delay his actions.
