(5) My pug has a fawn, or kind of beige-colored, coat; however, pugs may also be fawn silver, fawn apricot, or black
(6) Pugs are friendly, outgoing, playful little dogs
(7) Pugs are therefore good companion dogs.

According to the fact that you didn't attached the purpose of this question, I guess you have to describe the most effective way to vary the sentence patterns in the passage. Depending on the scale of sentences which are represented above, I am pretty sure that the right answer is that you need to make a beginning of the sentences by using different parts of speech. That will definitely solve the problem. Do hope it will help you.
