An outline can help in any problems with the content of the text - it can for example show you whether your structure makes sense and whether you have included all the content in the right place.
But what it will not help with is close proof-writing, such as when you want to
b. identify errors in grammar and spelling.
This can only be done by a close examining of the text, and having an overview of the text won't help you with it.
