The tension of the string will be in Equilibrium if it is stretched by two equal and opposite forces "F".

Explanation:

Let us consider  the above mentioned string as "String A".

Usually a string contains two parts namely the right part and the left part.

The interaction between two such parts is referred to as Tension (T).

Now as mentioned when two equal and opposite force acts on the string which leads to its stretching, The string will neither move towards to its left and to its right but will tend to remain in the equilibrium state.

This can further be clearly explained with the help of Newtons Third law which states that "Every action has a equal and opposite reaction".

As both equal and opposite forces acts,It will not create any impact in the movement of the string and will tend to remain the same.

Hence we can conclude that the tension of the string is in equilibrium.
