Free radicals are unstable and very reactive molecules which are missing one electron and they can be produced by the body, for example, during respiration. Free radicals can equally begotten from external environment, example, exposure to UV radiation from the sun, toxins and smokes. When these free radicals enter the body skin cells, they combine with the free electron and cause damage to the skin cells. It affects the skin cell membrane,mitochondria and it's DNA. Over a period of time it will cause skin aging which appears as wrinkles and age spots. This can be removed by the use of antioxidant like Vitamin A, C, and E which donated an electron to the free radicals so that the free radicals doesn't have to take the electron from the cells of the skin.
