1. label each of the sides x, y, z
2. SINCE they're all right angle triangles we can use Pythagorean theorem to create the base generation equation
3. rewrite whole formula in terms of x with y in its components
4. using the mini triangle x can also be rewritten with z in its components
5. equate them together to isolate for a variable, z
6. solve for y by rewriting a formula using the other mini triangle
7. now plug on the equation u isolated with z to get y value
8. plug y back into the formula you wrote in terms of x
to check:
6^2 + 6.71^2
= 81 which equals the hypotenuse of the while triangle
