Stokely Carmichael was originally called as Kwame Ture (in respect of two leaders of Pan-Africanism named as Ghanaian Kwame Nkrumah and Guinean Sekou Toure), he was an influential activist from Caribbean-American basis in the civil rights movement of U.S. He was leader of black nationalism and raised the slogan of rally “black power”. He did following remarkable works:
- After graduating from Howard University with honors in 1964, Carmichael maintained his engagement with the civil rights movement and the SNCC i.e student non-violent coordinating committee.
- That summer he entered SNCC for an African American voter registration drive in Lowndes County, Alabama and supported to establish an independent political party.
- He motivated Lowndes County Freedom Movement, later as they had black panther as party's symbol, they were highlighted as "Black Panther Party".
- He also helped to set up the All-African People's Liberation Movement, an multinational political party committed to pan-Africanism and the global oppression of Africans.
