Question one is a personal attack.
Claiming that his son dropped out of college and that he is an atheist does not add anything to the argument and does not give true, worthy opposition.

Question two is a personal attack.
"He obviously doesn't care" is once again a personal attack and focuses on the character and not the issue at hand. "But the neighbors oppose" focuses on what the characters, the neighbors, want and not proper opposition.
