A CBE also known as a clinical breast exam should ideally be performed by a physician or nurse practitioner, because there is a certain technique to check your breasts for lumps and masses. Women are encouraged to check their breasts at any time not just after their menstrual period for changes or if they find a lump that wasn’t there before. Then they could make an appointment and bring it to the attention of a professional to have it professionally checked, it is a good screening tool when done correctly but doesn’t hurt to do it yourself.

This is an answer from an adult woman not a book but it is what I was taught and it is to be true. Hope that helps

The statement that women can perform a CBE monthly, just after their menstrual period ends is false.

  • Breast self-examination simply means the inspection of one's breast. This is vital in order to check if there are no lumps and changes in the way that the breast feels.

  • It should be noted that the breast self-examination should be performed by the woman every month. In a situation whereby the person is still menstruating, the breast self-examination should be done one week after the person begins her period.

  • It should be noted that as an optional cancer screening tool women can perform a CBE monthly after their menstrual period starts and not when it ends.

In correction, the correct option is False.
