Identifying and comparing Absolute and Constitutional Monarchy.
Louis VIX, also known as ``The Sun King´´ was the king of France from 1643-1715. Louis as an absolute monarch possessed unlimited power over the country. During his time in office he limited the power of nobles and increased the power of officials who were loyal to him. Louis also encouraged people to buy more french goods and to settle in the new province of Canada, this helped trading and relations with foreing nations, which brought wealth and a more stable economy to France. However, Louis became greedy for land and started wars which led to the end of his run as a King since wars were too expensive and harvest declined.
William and Mary ruled England from 1689 - 1702. Mary was offered to be the Queen of England after his younger brother James was removed from the throne because of religious beliefs and poor law management. William was Mary's husband and a prince of the Netherlands. They ruled as a constitutional monarchy who agreed to rule according to laws created by the Parliament in a Declaration of Rights. The Declaration became The English Bill Of Rights which ensured that the power of the monarchy would be, in the future, limited and that Parliament could function free from royal interference. In 1694 Mary died of smallpox, this decreased the popularity of William´s popularity who died in 1702 after winning The Battle of Boyne in 1690.
Mary, Wiilliams and Louis XIV wanted the best for their country. They were involved in wars and wanted the best for their people. They all accomplished great things even though William and Mary were Constitutional monarchs who shared their power with the parliament and people, while Louis XIV was an Absolute monarch who possessed all the power over the country. Louis XIV did a great job with France's economy and foreign relations with other countries. On the other hand Mary and William did a great job on establishing a better relationship with their people by having a government who worked and listened to their citizens.
