Using inspiration from the hexagon example, we can cut out a side of the parallelogram and move that portion to the opposite side. The cut can be a curve of any kind or it could be a jagged edge like I have done below. The figure tessellates the plane as shown in the last section of the diagram. We can place the figures side by side to fill up a 2D space. Think of it like putting a jigsaw puzzle together in a way.
