History gives us the opportunity to learn from others' past mistakes. It helps us understand the many reasons why people may behave the way they do. As a result, it helps us become more impartial as decision-makers.
History remains relevant because the basis of the present we live in is built upon our history. Furthermore we learn from our history how to approach similar situations seen before and without it knowledge of our origins-or even knowledge in general would not be passed down.
