Yes, 9/4 is 2.25 (if I were you memorize things like that) However, say you have 7/9, you would put 9 in the dog house as I was taught, and 7 at the door. Well, how many times does 7 go into 9? Once. Put the 1 on the roof of the dog house. 9-7 = 2. Well add a 0 beside the 9 in the dog house and add a decimal beside the 1 on the roof. And you continue with that strategy.
