in my opinion, i’d say the father. “you say i’ll never get your blessing till the day i die” “tough luck my friend, the answers still no” he isn’t giving him his blessing, meaning he won’t let them marry. he’s not a big fan of the idea. “i know you’re an old fashioned man” in the beginning, meaning he won’t let her marry unless he asks for his blessing. i hope this helps somewhat, good luck!
