Don't feel confused, just break this thing down.   So I know that 1 inch equals 10 miles on a map (before GPS we had to use those maps).  If 1 inch equals 10 miles, or you could say 1:10 or 1 to 10,  how many go with 90, or what times 10 equals 90? I know that 1 goes with 10 (multiply by 10) so 9 has to go with 90 because 9 times 10 equals 90.
