the revolutionary war was between the 13 colonies and Britain. Britain ad opposed a bunch of unfair acts against the colonies to help pay their debt after the french and Indian war or the 7 years war. the colonies got help from the french, since they only had hunting weapons, and ended up winning in 1783 and created a new country under the articles of confederation. hope that helps
