Non-sampling errors are those errors that do not have to do with the sample that was chosen for the research such as false information by participants, error in data entry, and the participant providing an irrelevant answer amongst others.

Another common source of non-sampling error is biased survey questions as these questions influence the participant to give a response that is skewed to a certain response.

In the question above, the researcher already assumes that it is wrong to support Republicans in the upcoming elections and in asking such a question will lead to participant to give a response that is skewed towards negativity to the Republicans.

My own example of a survey question that would likely create a notable source of non-sampling error is:

"Why do you believe cutting of trees in your community is harmful?"

Based on the given question, we know that a survey question which would create a notable source of non sampling error, we would see that they do not include false statements from the respondents.

With this in mind, we can see that the survey question which was given above shows that the respondents have to give a straight reply to a very specific question where there is little to no chance of giving irrelevant answers.
