This semester you read several memoirs, including pieces by Ernesto Galarza and Russell Baker. Return to “Barrio Boy” and “No Gumption” now. How are these two memoirs similar? How are they different? In what ways are the authors’ choices and depictions related to the subject matter of their stories?

I have read both memoirs, but early in the semester. Now I am having a hard time remembering. Here is what I have so far. Please provide ideas.

"The memoirs are similar in a few ways. They are both written in first person, they share conflicts, and even have some of the same values. "

Respuesta :

“Barrio Boy” and “No Gumption” are similar in terms of the time periods, and the characters were both poor. The characters also share the same conflict. No Gumption is about this boy who supports his family by delivering newspapers while Barrio Boy is about an immigrant who is trying to learn English. Thank you for posting your question. I hope this answer helped you. Let me know if you need more help.
