Thank you for posting your question here. The appeals to pathos would be when he talks about
the theory of school and its comparison to a child on a mother’s lap which is
on page 104 para. 3. Also, another appeal to pathos was when he pushes the
respect that we must give to every child which on page 102 para. 1 and 2. There
is another which would be his conclusion which is on page 108.
Emerson liked to use emotional diction which it brought and enlightened the fire of the people's passion to let them re-examine or reflect in their own educational philosophies and approaches. It is known that writers do not create emotions, they appeal to it. And that's what Emerson did.
