Now, we will have to solve these equations to get the values of x and y

  • Form equation (1) we can write,

x = 98 - 2y

  • Putting the value of x in equation (2) we get,

3y - 98 + 2y = 22

⇒ 5y = 120

⇒y = 120/5 = 24

  • Now, putting the value of y in equation (2) we get,

(3 x 24) - x = 22

⇒ x = 50

∴ 2 numbers are 50 and 24.
