Napoleon was quite impressed by the accomplishments of Augustus Caesar which include:

  • Augustus leading armies and winning the Roman civil wars at a young age
  • Augustus establishing the Roman empire
  • Augustus expanding the Roman empire

Napoleon wanted to be like Augustus and succeeded in some areas. For instance Napoleon was quite young when he conquered Europe. He established the French Empire and he increased its land.

In conclusion, Napoleon wanted to be like Augustus as he admire him but sadly he could not last as long as Augustus did and neither did he create an empire that lasted for millennia.
