A piece of literature that I have read and what I am going to be talking about is Freak The Mighty. I ask myself how it can relate to this quotation: "Character is what you are in the dark." -Dwight Lyman Moody. To begin, the story is about two boys in middle school. One suffers with a disease called Morquio syndrome. So it makes him very small but he takes that as an opportunity to become very smart. The other one is very tall for his age but he does not do very well in school. Then they join together in friendship and become Freak the Mighty. An example in the book that relates to this quotation is when the max, which is the one that is very tall for his age, saved Kevin, the kid that suffers with the disease, from bullies in the story. Max is usually really shy around people but when he sees someone in need he is to the rescue. When he saw Kevin in trouble he went to go save him. Then they ran to the creak and Max picked Kevin up, and they went to the creek until the police came to get rid of the bullies.
