Uh, I've never interviewed anyone, but I would start with basic questions. When you get onto a topic that seems noteworthy, begin to ask him questions about it, and wait for his responses. Go with the flow, and ask like you're having a conversation. You'll be fine Lois Lane.
Well ask him what inspired him to start writing about people and things. Let him know that you are interested about his work and that you enjoy learning from him. Ask him why he started writing about the thing he writes about. Ask him where he learned this and how he learned about about it. Ask him who was his inspiration to start writing. Just get on a personal level with him and you should do fine also ask questions that are about his articles and why did he write them. Also listen to him with your whole heart let him know that you care about what he is saying. Look at him when he talk not only is it respectful but it also help eliminate distractions and lets him know that you are listening to him. Good luck. :)
