Answer:
Between 1870 and 1890 I believe the railroad was being build over the Indian Territory. The reason why they built railroads over the Indian Teritory was to make traveling the cattle much easier than using cowboys on horsers. The next reason is the Plains Indians wernt to happy about the outsiders coming on to there lands to travel there cattle up to Kansas and other states (This was because cattle cost more in other states than Texas this was due to Texas having so much cattle). This was because the cattle would damage the Indian Territory by many reasons. This made the Plains Indians mad so what they did is they Taxed the outsiders for every cattle head or for how many miles they would travel. The railroads will stop the Plains Indians from taxing the outsiders and there cattle and making traveling much faster and save the goverment tons of money on traveling.
