1. there was a fight in the streets between montague and capulet and the king said that whoever fights again in the streets will be killed.
2. romeo was sad because rosaline didn’t love him anymore
3. benvolio suggested they go to the party that the messenger accidentally invited them to (it was a capulet party
4. they went to the party and romeo saw juliet and was instantly smitten and they found out each other’s names but they don’t care because they’re in love
