The pan-African movement was very instrumental in the struggle for Kenya's independence.
The fight was independence was a tough one but Kenyans were able to gain their independence through the following ways.
- Kenyans adopted a national flag with colours which were Pan-African in nature.
- Many ethnic groups joined forces together to revolt against British colonists and this revolt formed part of the triumphant Mau Mau Revolt
- Kenyan people were spurred to freedom and they declared independence from Great Britain
- Kenyans also received support from the British public and this prompted the British government to grant Kenya independence.
