(2)-(1)
-25y=25
Y= - 1
X=8
10x+10y=70 equation (1)
10x-15y=95 equation (2)
(2)-(1)
-25y=25
Y= - 1
X=8
The value of x is 5 and y is 2 .
What is elimination method?
The elimination method is the process of eliminating one of the variables in the system of linear equations using the addition or subtraction methods in conjunction with multiplication or division of coefficients of the variables.
According to the question
2x + 2y=14 ------------------- (1)
5x - 3y = 19 ------------------- (2)
Now,
solving both equation by elimination method
Multiplying equation (1) by 3 and by 2 to equation (2)
to make equal coefficient for y
So, y can be eliminated
3(2x + 2y)=14 * 3
6x + 6y = 42 -------------- (3)
2(5x - 3y) = 19*2
10x - 6y = 38 -----------------(4)
Now,
Adding both eq(3) and (4)
16x = 80
x = 5
Putting value of x in eq(1)
2*5 + 2y=14
10 + 2y = 14
2y = 4
y = 2
Hence, The value of x is 5 and y is 2 .
