I chose London because it is the capital of England. It is a 21st-century city with history stretching back to Roman times. At its centre stand the imposing Houses of Parliament, the iconic âBig Benâ clock tower and Westminster Abbey, site of British monarch coronations. Across the Thames River, the London Eye observation wheel provides panoramic views of the South Bank cultural complex, and the entire city.
One great thing about London is that there are so many free attractions. Some of the finest museums, such as the National Gallery, the Science Museum, the National History Museum and the British Museum can be explored for free and there is also the Tate Modern, where many exhibits are available for free.
Another reason why to visit London is because of its amazing night life. Londoners may work hard, but they also play hard too. Thereâs everything any night owl could possibly want in the capital, from classic pubs, to chic clubs, quirky dive bars, theatres packed with Hollywood stars taking their turn on the boards. Whatever you decide to do, make sure you book tickets for some kind of show one evening, whether it be a West End musical, a stand up comedy show, or a great live concert. The biggest stars and the best shows always make a stop in our nationâs capital, so youâre sure to find something that will blow you away.
Fascinatingly, London is the only town in the history of the Olympic games that's hosted the event three times. That exemplifies just how proficient the city is regarding its ability to attract events of this stature. With an excellent infrastructure, transport network, and booming economy â events here are held for a good reason.
London has something for everyone with its vibrant culture. London is pure magic and that's why it's one of the world's most visited cities. From history and culture to fine food and exceedingly good times London has everything.
