Economic reform in the Ukraine in the early 2000s helped start a recovery, but the country still lacks oil and natural gas supplies.
All of its oil and natural gas comes from Russia, which Russia often takes advantage of, politically. It is a great problem for Ukraine, and if it had these supplies, its economy would be so much better.
