Rhianna says she can draw different functions that have the same x-intercepts and the same domain and range. Her teammates say "No, that's impossible!" But Rhianna insists,"It is possible if we just try to sketch the graphs."
a. What if the x-intercepts are (-5,0),(2,0), and (6,0), the domain is −5≤x≤
and the range is −4≤y≤10

Yes, it is possible, Rhianna is right.

The x-intercepts are only points where the functions touchs the x-axis, this is the y-coordinate of the function is 0.

As long as the domain contains this point, there are infinite function with the same domain and range that satisfy the condition that the x-intercepts are equal.

Examples:

y = x + 5

y = 2x + 10

y = 3x + 15

For those three functions, when x = -5, y =0. Those the x-intercept is (-5,0).
