I am pretty sure that the reason which what caused the dispute between Henry II and Thomas Becket is being revealed by the second option from the scale represented above B. Henry claimed the right to try clergy in royal courts. I remember that this event was one of the most memorable episodes of the twelfth century ans that's why I consider it correct.
