  • Heart muscle is a muscle that works specifically to pump blood to the heart. This is a muscle tissue that can contract continuously without stopping. Its movement is not influenced by central nervous signals. Heart muscle can be affected by sympathetic or parasympathetic nerve interactions that slow or accelerate the rate of the heart rate, but cannot consciously control it.
