From the Chinese textbook, China disapproves of America and want to repel them, as they believe they want to expand and gain more economic power, This is why when America and its allied nation were invading North Korea, China joined to help Horth Korea fight. On the other hand, South Korea viewed America as good. This is because when North Korea tried to invade South Korea, America helped South Korea fight. As for which is more reliable, that’s difficult. I would say however that the South Korean textbook is more reliable as they add more fact then opinion in what they wrote, while the Chinese textbook brings up more opinions.

Kim met Mao in May 1950. Mao was worried that the US would intervene in the war and gain more economic power, agreed to support the North Korean invasion.

Why did China fight the US in the Korean War?
