The way I interpret the story is that it is bad for Midas but he got what he deserved. I think the lesson was to not be greedy. I think another part of the lesson was think before you do or say something. I think it is relevant to now a days. I think that it is because people can be greedy. People also do things without thinking. On two last notes, If there were to occur now a days it would be money. And, I think Midas didn't make a good choice.
