The refusal of a breathalyzer test means the officer can revoke a person license for a year, the person can be marked as a PDD (persistent drunk driver). If alcohol has in fact been consumed, the person can get a DUI or DWAI. A DUI or DWAI means Driving Under Influence or Driving While Ability Impaired. If one or more DUI’s or DWAI’s have been reported for a single person, license can be suspended and taken to court. Major penalties can be involves as well such as fines.
