it helped contribute to the start of wwii. germany and its allies had to limit their militaries, pay huge sums of money, and give back lots of territory (in a document called the treaty of versailles). many of the german people felt that this was unfair, since the german economy was in trouble because of the war and they couldn’t pay back the money. so when hitler came along and promised to get germany back on its feet and go against the armistice and the treaty of versailles, many people thought that was a good idea, and that’s how hitler came to power. hope that helps :D
