Yes and no. If the reproductive system is damaged through an untreated STI then the mother may not be able to carry children due to damage to either structures or hormones. But over all yes, the likely hood of transmsitting disease to the fetus is low. Herpes have been known to cause some blindness and other things if the sores are oozing.
