Together a computer, monitor, and printer cost $1935. the monitor cost $400 less than the computer, the printer cost $50 more than the monitor. Find the cost of the printer.

Respuesta :

c: computer
m: monitor
p: printer
c+m+p=1935
m+400=c
p=m+50
substitute the last two equations into the first one:
m+400+m+50+m=1935
3m=1485
m=495
Substitute into the other equations
c=495+400=895
p=495+50=545

The cost of the printer will be $545

We have the sum total of costs of computer, monitor and printer equal to $1935.

We have to find the cost of the printer.

If two flowers together cost $n and the cost of second flower is twice that of first, then find the cost of first flower will be?

We have -

x + y = n    and      y = 2x

Therefore -

x + 2x = n

3x = n

x = [tex]\frac{n}{3}[/tex]

In the question given -

Let us assume that the cost of computer be x.

Then,

the cost of monitor  will be = x - 400

the cost of printer will be = x - 400 + 50 = x - 350

Then, According to question -

x + x - 400 + x - 350 = 1935

3x - 750 = 1935

3x = 1935 + 750

3x = 2685

x = 895

Cost of Printer = 895 - 350 = 545

Hence, the cost of the printer will be $545
