The "Three Principles of the People" were Sun Yat-sen's ideas for governing China.
The Three Principles of the People are a political philosophy developed by Sun Yat-sen as part of a philosophy that would make China a prosperous, powerful and free nation. The legacy of this philosophy is implemented in the government organization of the Republic of China, which currently manages the islands of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu. This philosophy is also considered as the spearhead of the policy of the Republic of China by the Kuomintang. The principles also appear in the first line of the National Anthem of the Republic of China.
