Yun Ok, demonstrated patience and reselience when taking care of the tiger to win over his confidence. The parallel the hermit wanted her to realize is that her patience and reselience in taming the tiger is the same effort she is required to put towards caring for her husband to win him back again and drag him from this alienated and angry state, just like the tiger.
