Eva wants to make 2 pieces of pottery. She needs 3/5 -pounds of clay for one piece and 7/10 -pounds of clay for the other piece. She has three bags of clay that weigh 4/5 pound each. How many bags of clay will Eva need to make both pottery pieces? How many pounds of clay will she have left over?

first I added 3/5 and 7/10 to find the total clay she used.

she used 1 and 3/4lbs of clay for both pieces of pottery witch is 1.3.

She has 3 bags of clay that weigh 4/5 pound each so I multiplied 4/5 by 3 to get 2 and 2/5 witch is 2.4.  

Since she was 2.4 lbs total and she used 1.3lbs I subtracted 1.3 from 2.4 to get 1.1.

Last I converted 1.1 to 1 and 1/10.
