  • Monthly gross = 3,280

  • Weekly gross = 3280 / 4 = 820

New position :

  • Pay per hour = 14.90
  • Overtime = 1.5(14.90) = 22.35

Let the number of overtime hours required weekly = t

Hence,

(14.90 × 40) + 22.35t = 820

596 + 22.35t = 820

22.35t = 820 - 596

22.35t = 224

t = 224 / 22.35

t = 10

Therefore, he'll need 10 hours of overtime.
