When considering plate tectonics and the rate at which tectonic plates move, we can say that daily, the plates will move fractions of a millimeter, which can result in up to a few centimeters yearly, which is why we don't feel this movement when there isn't an earthquake.
Plate tectonics refers to the movements of large-scale plates that make up the earth's lithosphere. Despite their massive size, and very beneficial to us, these plates move very slowly and gradually.
