Think about what you have learned in this unit about three types of punctuation: commas, dashes, and ellipses. On a sheet of paper, write several paragraphs about a dramatic event or situation, such as a race or championship match, a fire, or a huge storm. In your writing, use each type of punctuation in at least two different sentences.

Answer:

This weekend was when the 15 mile Hawk Race started. Known for its difficulty, i had been training for months before this to be in shape.

My best times were between 2 hours and 53 minutes and 3 hours 5 minutes- not very fast, but I have a strong pace.

On the race day I was prepared. Or rather, as prepared as I could be. There had to be at least 200-300 people competing, and i was overwhelmed. Finally the countdown began.

5...4...3...2...1... Begin! And the race was a go.

I got tired around miles 4-6 and 11-13, but I continued anyway. I wanted to beat my previous times, and somehow I did. When I made it to the end, I could hear my friends and family cheering for me. They were also counting, and I realized some thing. I had beat by previous times!

As I went over to check in, they started chanting my time.

Two forty six! Two forty six! Two forty six! Two forty six....
