Before the French and Indian War, France was a major player in North America. After the war, France had almost no territory. Spain gained a great deal of France’s old territory, including all of Louisiana. Great Britain, which won the war, gained the most territory. Great Britain took control of all the land east of the Mississippi River and all of French Canada. For Oklahoma, the war meant that the land was no longer under French control. Spain took control of the land after the war.
