  1. Both houses of Congress unanimously pass the Rehabilitation Act.
  2. Disability activists organized sit-in demonstrations targeting the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare.
  3. Congress passed the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Social activism is simply known as working hand in hand with people so as to effect or bring about a change in a community. It is known to be confrontational and it is usually against an established power, authority, status quo, etc.

This type of Activism often boast a sense of control over an individual's life and tackles helplessness and hopelessness.

To show that we matter in the community, and support others in their quest, especially during pandemics, we have to join a cause.
