The term Wicca designates a Neopagan religion that originated in the first half of the 20th century in England. It’s name is related to the modern English term witch, derived from medieval wicche or wicce, meaning ‘witch’ or ‘sage’.
The Wiccan religion is associated with the activities of white witches and many of the principles of ancient polytheistic religions. For this reason, monotheistic religions often associate it with satanic practices. However, the figure of Satan is not part of the Wiccan mythological image.
