Since, the final test accounts for 15 %, then the other tests account for 85%.

Therefore, If he scores 100% in the final test; we have;

  • (0.15 × 100) + (0.85×79) = 15 + 67.15 = 82.15%

The minimum score he would need to get a score of 75% is;

  • (0.15 × x) + (0.85×79) = 75

  • 0.15x = 75-67.15 = 7.85

x = 7.85/0.15 = 52.33
