Answer:
give away Odysseus' disguise and ruin his plan to kill the suitors.
Explanation:
As soon as Odysseus passes by (but not without shedding a tear for his beautiful dog lying in manure) and enters his hall, Argos dies. This is important because if Argos lived, he would undoubtedly give away Odysseus' disguise and ruin his plan to kill the suitors.
Answer:
Loyalty and trust. Ambition and friendship.
Explanation:
I don't know if you've ever seen it but there is a movie based off of a true story called Hachi. This dog would sit and wait for his owner to come home every day. Whenever I think of Argos and Odysseus's relationship, I compare it to Hachi.
Argos sat and waited for years for his owner to return home when Odysseus's left to fight in the Trojan war. He used to be a dog known for superior hunting skills but these soon deteriorated while his master was gone, due to others neglecting him.
When Odysseus returned home, Argos had only enough strength to recognize his voice before dying. It is, perhaps, the saddest part of the story. I feel as if Argos presented great traits during the time that he waited for his master's return.
